Post-Doctoral Degree in Economics, Ph.D. in History, Leading Researcher at the Centre for Economic History, Institute of Russian History, Russian Academy of Sciences; Professor at the Department of Economic History, Institute of Social Sciences, RANEPA.
He was born in 1953 in Kirov. In 1979, he graduated from the Department of History of Leningrad State University (St. Petersburg State University). In 1988, he defended his Ph.D. thesis, in 2005 – his post-doctoral dissertation entitled ‘Formation and Development of Enterprises in the Volga region at the turn of the 19–20 centuries: institutional analysis’. Since 2010, a professor at the Department of the Russian Entrepreneurship History.
Areas of Expertise: the economic history of Russia, the history of Russian entrepreneurship, its representative organizations, the history of commercial and technical education in Russia, and the social responsibility of business.
Member of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences on Russian economic history, member of the Russian Historical Society (RHS), member of the contest committee of the All-Russian Olympiad on the history of Russian entrepreneurship, member of the editorial board of several scientific journals.
He is the author of three monographs and more than 100 scientific publications on economic history, the history of financial education, study guides and a textbook on the history of Russian entrepreneurship.
