Andrey Romanenko

Mr. Romanenko was born on 26 August 1979 in Budapest, Hungary. In 2000, he graduated from the International Independent University of Environmental and Political Science (Moscow) in Management. He is ideologue, co-founder and member of the Board of Directors, QIWI Group; also co-founder and board member of more than 10 Russian companies, including the cellular communications operator SIM SIM, Tochka Oplaty Group, Multikassa; co-investor in venture funds ITech Capital, Run Capital and AddVenture III. Mr. Romanenko is a member of the Board of Trustees, Konstantin Khabensky Charitable Foundation. In 2000, he set up his first company, Magazin Plastikovykh Kart (Plastic Cards Shop), a distributor of express payment cards. In 2004, he founded OSMP (currently known as QIWI) In 2008, he became President of the QIWI Group. In 2010, he was honoured with the top spot in the rating of Most Successful Men of Russia younger than 33, published by Finance magazine. In 2012, he was awarded the main Entrepreneur of the Year prize instituted by Ernst & Young, in the Financial Service category. In 2015, he became a winner of World Finance Awards Entrepreneurs of Eastern Europe 2015 in the Financial Services category.
