Sergei Katyrin

President, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation

Born October 2, 1954 in Moscow Oblast.
Graduated Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University and School of International Business at Moscow State Institute of International Relations
Has been actively involved in Komsomol work in the University, then at the city committee of All-Union Leninist Young Communist League, then headed Moscow City Student Brigade.
Played an active role in creating Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in 1991–1992 worked as head of the main office, since 1992 acted as vice-president of the chamber. In March 2011 was elected president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
From 2006 to 2012 was part of Civic Chamber of Russian Federation, acted as Deputy Secretary.
Mr. Katyrin is chairman of the Russian part of BRICS Business Council and chairman of national part of the SCO Business Council from the Russian Federation.
Awarded Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”, 4th Degree; Order of Friendship, Order of Valour, Medal ”For Labour Valour” and others.
